I know this is a long story but I wanted to share this with you since I know a lot of people have been complaining about adobes bugs lately.

You would think going from 64 Cores to 16 that it would be slower, but it is not, adobe runs absolutely flawless and I have not encountered a single issue or bug, and speed-wise, it has to be damn near twice as fast as the pc if not faster.

The good thing is with the absolutely insane pc part shortage right now, I was able to find a VFX guy who needed a rig just like mine to use with 3d work (which it did really really well) I turned around and bought a Mac Pro 7,1. This obviously left me feeling absolutely sick to my stomach, I had just spent north of $9500 on a pc that was not really able to run any adobe products faster than me 9 year old mac with a quarter of the specs.

He said in order to run any adobe product on an amd pc there are a lot of patches that had to be made to the original software code and thus things run slower, and more buggy than you would expect. Until one day I spoke with a tech support guy at adobe that told me "I am not supposed to tell you this but." basically all of the creative cloud apps are designed to run on intel cpus, and furthermore are designed and developed on mac, then ported to pc, and then patched to run on amd.
Basically I was getting the proverbial run around. I spent days on support phone calls with adobe, that would result in phone calls with amd which would result in more phone calls with adobe. After effects was not a lot better, and photoshop was ok at best. It was running like total garbage, slower that my MacPro 5,1. Put it all together and opened up premiere and well. I had heard good things about AMD so I figured I would future proof my system and get the gnarlyist cpu I could buy.The 3990x, I paired that with the RTX3090 and 256 GB of ram. So I made the decision to make a big change, and build a work pc that was based on windows.

As a lifetime mac guy I was impressed with how well windows worked and how easy it was to do some basic things like photoshop on it. But I also had another computer, my gaming PC, which has an intel i9-9900k with a 2080ti in it, I really only ever used photoshop on it but it ran silky smooth. I mean it was a 9 year old computer afterall. However, up until about 4 months ago I had been using a MacPro 5,1 that was maxed out, and it was starting to become sluggish. I also color with Davinci and sometimes edit with it as well but I don't find it as fast as premiere. My clients know what I work in and send me pr projects and sometimes I have to send them pr projects back. I primarily work in adobe, I use premiere, after effects, photoshop, audition, illustrator all on a regular basis. This is not really an answer to your question but I have some interesting experience to share with you.
